Taylor Swift Earns MTV’s First Artist-Director Award

Women in entertainment

Taylor Swift will be the first winner of MTV’s Artist-Director Award at the 2026 Video Music Awards.

The trophy is built for musicians who direct their own videos and control the look of a release.

It treats visual authorship as part of the job, not a side credit.
